East Central University Presents the
Second-Annual

ECU Marching Percussion Workshop

Thursday, October 2, 2008
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Norris Field -- Ada, Oklahoma

This is a non-competitive, educational workshop that focuses on issues of technique, musical interpretation, listening, tuning, instrument and mallet selection, and show design as they pertain to the modern marching percussion ensemble.  As was the case last year, there are two levels of participation:

1) Active (Your group will perform its contest/production music in a “stand still” format, and receive constructive comments and suggestions from our guest clinicians.  A $200 clinic fee is required per group, payable to ECU Band.)

2) Observational (Sit back, relax, and enjoy the performance of each group – or take some notes from our clinicians.  Free admission, and open to the general public.)

This year’s clinicians will be Paul Rennick (Phantom Regiment, University of North Texas), Mike McIntosh (Bluecoats, Carmel High School) and John Brennan (Cavaliers, Plano East High School).

In an effort to make this event accessible to a larger number of students, available performance slots have been expanded to 10 (up from 5 last year).  These slots will fill up rather quickly, so please contact Benjamin Finley at bfinley@ecok.edu as soon as possible if you wish to have your group perform in the clinic sessions, or if you have any other questions or concerns regarding the workshop.

* Again, admission is FREE for all non-performing attendees.
