Drumset Warm-up by John Riley
These jazz drumming exercises are designed to reinforce the swing ride cymbal pattern and develop left-hand independence. Practice at various tempos (e.g., MM = 70200) and using various dynamics. Play each exercise softly so that you don’t lose the focus on the ride cymbal. The bass drum part should also be played very softly.
