In this triplet exercise, each measure contains three single flammed mills. In the first measure of each variation, the right hand plays a melodic vignette around the toms while the left hand accompanies on the hi-hat. In the second measure, the left hand plays the melody while the right hand accompanies on the ride cymbal. The bass drum/hi-hat part is a 4 over 3 pattern that creates some interesting open/closed figures in the left hand.
