Kerope Zildjian Concert Percussion Scholarship
The Zildjian family is pleased to announce the fourth annual Kerope Zildjian Scholarship. This scholarship recognizes an outstanding student percussionist, who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate music program. The 2008 Scholarship winner will receive a $4000 college tuition award, an all expense paid trip to Zildjian's world headquarters, a variety of complimentary cymbals, and a one year subscription to the Percussive Arts Society. Application deadline: June 6th, 2008

PAS Past-President Elected into Drum Corps International’s Hall of Fame
James Campbell, Past-President of the Percussive Arts Society and Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Kentucky School of Music, has been elected into the Drum Corps International Hall of Fame.
With a background as an instructor and arranger for the Guardsmen (Schaumburg, IL) and Cavaliers (Rosemont, IL) from the ‘70s through the ‘90s, Campbell’s credits include winning three High Percussion Awards and two World Championships in the process. He is credited with helping to introduce world music concepts and contemporary performance practice into marching percussion arranging. As an equipment designer, he also helped design the modern tenor drum array, holds two patents for drum head design, and pioneered the use of the front ensemble (pit) percussion.

Meredith Music Publications Donates Thousands of Dollars
Thousands of dollars have been donated by 342 authors from six Meredith Music publications to the American Music Conference (AMC), American String Teachers Association (ASTA) and the Percussive Arts Society (PAS). Royalties from The Music Director’s Cookbook: Creative Recipes for a Successful Program and five other “cookbooks” for Brass, Chorus, Woodwinds, Strings and soon-to-be released Drum and Percussion, each with 57 authors are being donated to named organizations.
