PAS Contests and Competitions Forms Available

Every year the Percussive Arts Society offers a variety of contests and competitions for those that want to be recognized for outstanding percussion accomplishment in composition and musical artistry. The four PAS competitions this year are:

World Music Percussion Ensemble Competition
International Percussion Ensemble Competition
Solo Competition: Multiple Percussion
Percussion Composition Contest

PAS Presents Awards at PASIC 2009

The Percussive Arts Society recognized many individuals at PASIC 2009 for their contributions to PAS.

Dennis DeLucia, Outstanding Service Award
Larry Lawless, Outstanding Chapter President Award
John DeChristopher, President’s Industry Award
Vicki P. Jenks and Ed Soph, Lifetime Achievement in Education Award

PAS Solo Competition Winners from PASIC 2008

Four finalists in the Percussive Arts Society Jazz Improvisation Solo Competition performed with Ed Soph at PASIC 2008 in Austin, Texas. The results of the competition are as follows:

First Place: Behn Gilleve (SUNY Purchase)
Second Place: Adam Pfannenstiel (Temple University)
Third Place: Micah Rutschman (Northern Illinois University)

PASIC 2009 Artist Applications Now Available

The Percussive Arts Society is now accepting online applications for PASIC 2009 sessions. PASIC will be held in downtown Indianapolis, IN November 11-14 at the Indianapolis Convention Center. Artist applications will be available online through December 15, 2008.
