Amores Grup dé Percussio is composed of Pau Ballester, Ángel García, and Jesús Salvador “Chapi”. Founded in 1989, the group’s name references and is influenced by composer John Cage. In their expanded trajectory, they have developed a decisive role in the evolution of percussion music in Spain, showing for the first time a great part of the works written for percussion and compositions dedicated to the group. The group has collaborated with important soloists of international renown and has performed in numerous European, Asian, and American cities. Currently, Amores is also a resident group of the Palau de la Musica de Valencia (The Valencia Music Hall) where they perform a cycle of percussion concerts every year. During 2009, Amores will celebrate their twentieth-year anniversary. Compact disc recordings of the group include Vivencias (1998), Amores/Cage (2000), and Fenix (2004).
