President

Neal Flum

Neal is currently the Associate Director of Athletic Bands at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He is a clinician/endorser for Evans Drumheads, Innovative Percussion, Pearl Drums and Adams Musical Instruments, and the Avedis Zildjian Company. He resides in Birmingham with his wife, Jeanne, two Pomeranians (Mickey and Winston), a Golden Retriever (Shea), and a cat, Thomas. Here is his contact info:

Vice President

Grant Dalton

Grant Dalton, a native of Ohio, is currently working toward the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at Ohio State University. He received the Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Ohio State University and the Bachelor of Science Degree in Instrumental Music Education from David Lipscomb University. Mr. Dalton has served as the graduate teaching assistant in the percussion department and director of the Ohio State University Steel Drum Band from 1999-2001. His professional interests include performing solo, chamber, and orchestral music with various ensembles. Mr. Dalton has performed as a section member of the Westeville Ohio Symphony Orchestra, the Springfield Symphony and the Dayton Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and is sponsored by Innovative Percussion. During his free time, Mr. Dalton enjoys playing tennis, bicycling, and going to movies and shows with his wife, Jennifer, a high school English teacher. Here is his contact info:

Secretary

Pat Wise

Pat has been an employee of the Jefferson County Department of Health for 25 years. She is currently a buyer in the Purchasing Department. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1975. While at Woodlawn she began playing drums in the marching band. The past 30 years she has enjoyed playing in several Country Western Bands. She is the proud owner of Ludwig drum set. She currently plays every Friday night at the Gardendale Civic Center for a Senior Citizen Dance. She performs with four different bands, and at special functions like the Harley Davidson dealership in Trussville. She has become an avid biker and now enjoys riding with several friends. She also enjoys going to car shows. Pat lives in Pinson with her daughter, Stephanie.

 

Treasurer

Clif Payne

Clifton Payne worked as a professional drummer for 13 years. He began playing in High School and learned his rudimental drumming with the Jacksonville High School Marching Band. In the early 70's he was the drummer for "The Distortions" who had two regional hit songs, "Thank You John" and "Behind MY Wall." In the late 70's he was the drummer for the local Birmingham band "Cahaba." In 1980 he left the music business to go back to school and graduated from GSCC with a degree in Religion and then continued studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. Clifton has served as a Bible teacher, and as an associate pastor for two churches and as senior pastor for a small independent church. He is currently a member of The Guiding Light Church and serves as a teaching minister. Clifton has worked as a sales consultant for Lexus for the past 15 years. Clifton is married to Melanie Judith McNutt and has two children, Matthew and Joshua. Clifton has been a member of PAS for many years and has served as the state treasurer for the past four years. here is his contact info:
