February 08, 2010
Randy Max, principal timpanist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic and long time PAS member, has announced a benefit concert to benefit his 12 year old daughter, Hannah, who is diagnosed with a very serious form of cancer called neuroblastoma. The benefit concert will feature members of the Rotterdam Philharmonic on February 18th in Philadelphia.
Hannah has completed the standard treatments, the 'international protocol' for this disease which included six rounds of chemotherapy, two operations, high dose chemo and a stem cell transplant. To further her treatment, money is being raised to bring Hannah to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in two weeks. The anticipated expense for this treatment is $400,000.
