10th Annual Summer Tabla Workshop with Shawn Mativetsky
When: June 29–July 5, 2020
Where: Schulich School of Music of McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada
Course of Study: During this intensive hands-on workshop, participants will learn tabla in the tradition of the Benares (Varanasi) gharana. The workshop is open to all levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). The schedule includes daily group practice sessions, group classes, and special topic sessions. Classes are scheduled during the daytime (the detailed schedule will be made available to participants in June). Students will live and breathe tabla for the duration of the workshop! For participants from out of town, reasonably priced accommodations are available at the McGill Royal Victoria College (RVC) residences, conveniently located next door to the Schulich School of Music.

Kosa Cuba Havana & Fiesta del Tambor

Course of Study: Experience an unforgettable, hands-on, and intimate adventure into the music and traditions of the Cuban Culture. As a KoSA participant, you will have VIP access and attend the evening concerts of the Fiesta del Tambor (Havana Rhythm and Dance Festival). You will feast your ears and eyes on the exciting competitions that feature the outstanding talent of young percussionists in Cuba. Clazz International Music Festival
When: July 25–August 8, 2020
Where: Arcidosso, Tuscany, Italy

Course of Study: Clazz, a music festival at the intersection of classical and jazz idioms, offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Set in the historic center of Arcidosso, Italy, and situated in the heart of Tuscany, Clazz International Music Festival features a fully integrated musical journey for attendees. While some musicians will come to focus on classical repertoire, others will be more inclined to harness their improvisational abilities. Clazz allows students the freedom to choose their own educational path. At Clazz, we are focused on learning how to be the best musician we can be, in an inspiring and nurturing environment, regardless of genre. DG European Jazz Intensive
When: April 14–18, 2020
Where: Groovekiste Drum Academy, Germany
Course of Study: The Daniel Glass Jazz Intensive program will be making its debut in Europe, in the heart of the stunning Rhineland region. Attendees will have the opportunity to work closely with the Daniel Glass New York trio in this this five-day, four-night adventure. In addition to eight hours of daily instruction and performance, the schedule includes activities in the historic Medieval city of Worms, plus visits to local wineries and much, much more.
